Flight Training Programs

At Right Rudder Aviation, we believe that the foundation of flight is confidence. That is why we have designed our flight training programs to be individually tailored to your unique needs and circumstances. Whether you are considering becoming a private pilot or a veteran pilot continuing education, we have your ideal flight training program.

Discovery Flight

Committing to a flight training program can be a stressful decision. You may be concerned that you may relate with your instructor, the training aircraft may not be of quality, or you are paying more than what the training is worth. That is why we recommend to all our potential students to take a discovery flight with us. Engaging in a discovery flight will allow you to get to know our CFIs and fleet, interact with our staff, and tour our facility.

Contact us today, and a member of our Team will happily assist you in planning your discovery flight. From selecting an aircraft in our rental fleet to picking an estimated time en route, we are here to help you design the perfect experience.

What if I don’t want to become a pilot. Can I still schedule a discovery flight?
Of course! Anyone who wants to enjoy a personalized aviation experience is welcome to schedule a discovery flight.

What do I need to bring with me to my Discovery Flight?
We’ve got an answer for you. Visit our FAQs page for what you need to bring to your Discovery Flight as well as suggestions on what to wear.

Primary Flight Instruction

Private Pilot

The first step to gaining freedom in the sky is earning your Private Pilot License. We believe that each program is unique to the individual, so we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible to discuss your aviation goals and ask any questions you may have about becoming a pilot. That way, we can get to know you as an individual, and work together to design a course perfectly tailored to you. We also encourage you to visit our FAQs page to see answers to the mostly commonly asked questions about our Private Pilot Training Program.

Instrument Rating

The next step to achieving independence in the sky is earning your Instrument Rating. Understanding how to navigate using your aircraft instruments is essential to becoming a confident pilot. This rating affirms that you know what to do in the most challenging conditions, such as night and fog. To learn more about our Instrument Rating Program, contact us directly.

Sport Pilot

Are you looking for a more affordable and accessible alternative to a Private Pilot License? Then a Sport Pilot License is perfect for you. Our program teaches you how to fly in half the time and for half the costs of the Private Pilot License option. To ensure the Sport Pilot License is right for you, we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible to discuss your aviation goals.

Commercial Pilot

Ready to turn your passion into a career? Then you will need to earn your Commercial Pilot License. To ensure that we are best preparing you for the commercial industry, we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible to discuss your aviation goals. We will happily work with you to develop a course that best meets your unique career ambitions.

Flight Review

Are you looking to get back into the cockpit after some time off? The FAA requires that all active pilots complete a flight review with a CFI every 24 calendar months. That means if you have out of the skies for some time, it may be time for a Flight Review.

To learn more about our Flight Review process, contact us at your earliest convenience. One of our CFIs will gladly provide you with information on Flight Reviews and discuss your piloting experience to understand your status better. We also encourage you to visit AOPA’s The Pilot’s Guide to the Flight Review for detailed information about the Flight Review process.

Flight Training Instruction Rates

To further our commitment to you, we have implemented an a-la-carte pricing system for our flight training programs. That means you only pay for the time you spend at our training facility or with one of our CFIs. The hourly rates for the two components of our flight training programs – ground school and flight instruction – are listed to the right.
